Laura's first day of school!

Wow! "BIG Day" is an understatement to describe today!  Laura just had her first day of pre-school!  Until recently, I have been teaching her lessons during Emily's naps (which I am still doing).  We planned to begin school in the spring but a spot opened up early, which means that Laura has 3 weeks to get her "feet wet" and will be able to be part of the Christmas program!  She is going to school at Northland (where we attend church) on Wednesdays and Fridays from 9 a.m.-1 p.m.

Laura had the very best "first day" today!  When she walked in, pictures of Jesus and a set of paints awaited her!  She barely had enough time to say good-bye..she was already too busy and interested in her school day!  She told me that she made lots of friends and played mainly with a little blonde haired girl.  Her favorite part of the day was the rocket song.  She also made a triangle and a square with white play-dough, made hand prints and foot prints with pink paint, attended music class, talked about Thanksgiving, and learned all about the shepherds seeing the angel for Jesus' birth.  She even played on the playground and got to eat her big-girl lunch with her new friends!  A day can't get much better than that!  She can't wait to go back on Friday!

Here's Laura on the way to school.  She makes me laugh...she just had to get her lamb because "Mary had a little lamb and it followed her to school one day...".  So, naturally, her lamb had to follow her to school...ha!

I left a special note for Laura when she opened her lunch box :)

Here's Laura starting off her day with paints. She sat in the perfect spot...right in between Ashton (a trusted, old friend) and a new friend!

Whoever said that kids grow up way too fast wasn't kidding!
