Happy 5 Years of Marriage to Us :)

It's been 5 wonderful years of marriage and we just had to celebrate!  Jeff planned the first 4 anniversaries.  So this year, it was my turn.  Jeff found out the "secret activities" step-by-step by a series of "clues" that were handed to him by Laura in a heart-shaped note.  You can see Jeff closing his eyes waiting for the secret note to appear in Laura's hands...

We spent the first part of the day as a family. We had Chick-fil-a chicken biscuits/minis for breakfast (of course) and played at home. Then, we went bowling and had lunch at Sonny's. Laura was awake and loving all the colors at the bowling alley.  Then, just as we were traveling to Sonny's, she fell asleep and was an angel the entire lunch!

Afterwards, we went to massage envy and got 1 hour massages in adjacent rooms at the same time. Boy was it relaxing!

Then, Jeff was blindfolded and taken to the "final activity" before dinnner. We was completely surprised when I took off the blindfold and he was at a bed-and-breakfast for the night!  It's in the historic district of Orlando and is a really quaint little place. Stacy and Adam actually stayed there for their honeymoon.  :)  The room has tons of character and even has a spa in the middle of the room!

Finally, I made reservations for a private room in Del Friscos.  The room was AMAZING and even had it's own flat screen t.v.  Just outside the room, there was a live piano player.  It was possibly the most romantic and delicious meal either one of us had ever had!  I can still taste the steak melting in my mouth...yummy!

The plan was to go to the movies or go straight back to the bed and breakfast after dinner...but first, we wanted to check on Laura Jo who was having a sleepover at Mama and Papa Jo's house.  The poor thing couldn't sleep without her parents and perked up when she heard our voices on the phone. So, we made a detour to the house....where we ended up spending 2 HOURS playing with her and trying to get her to sleep.  Of course, we were exhausted when we finally made it back to the bed-and-breakfast (around 11:30 p.m.) but it was completely worth it to see our little angel's face light up with delight and giggles.  We both agreed that it was a wonderful end to a wonderful day.  Our 2 hour detour only reaffirmed our new stage in life.  We are a family now and loving every moment.  Our marriage is stronger than ever, our love is deeper than we could have ever imagined, and life is just a little bit sweeter. I can't wait to see what the next five years have in store for us!  Life is good :)
