Thankfully, these last few days have been much sweeter and filled with some wonderful memories and birthday fun! We had even more healing with Spike's passing, as Laura painted Spike's cross a beautiful assortment of colors and we picked out some pretty flowers to mark his memorial.
I also had a wonderful healing and pampering day with my mom on the day before my birthday. We got pedicures, shopped at Ann Taylor Loft, and ate at BRIO. It doesn't get any more relaxing or better than that! When we got back to the house, we heard all the stories about the fun time the girls had with Papa Joe...Laura is still convinced she had an even better time than me that morning...ha!
On the actual day of my birthday, we went to the Brevard zoo. We started off the day by feeding giraffes some cookies (super cool!) but the highlight for everyone was the aviary full of cockatiels that looked just like Spike! We couldn't wipe the grins off our faces and could've stayed there for hours!
Emily kept looking over at me with this face of joy as if she was saying "Seriously, Mom...did you just see that?!
Laura pet all sorts of creatures in the petting zoo including this monitor lizard...crazy!
I felt very loved on my birthday...Jeff surprised me with a super cute little red velvet cake, Laura made me a card (and yes, she wrote every letter herself!), and I got some beautiful flowers from friends. It makes my heart all warm and fuzzy just looking at this :)
And here's Emily blowing out my candles successfully before I got a chance...hope she made a good wish...lol!
